That provides enough of a clearing for the harbour buses to sail under the bridge, which Shorter bridges over 17th Century canals, such as Cirkelbroen (the Circle Bridge), and the Frederiksholm Canal bridge, help link almost the entire harbour. Designed by the Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson, Cirkelbroen opened in 2015 and fixed a minor, but important gap in the mobility network of Copenhagen. The newly opened Lille Langebro bridge meets the eye with a strikingly fluid presence. Rising and twisting its way across the Inner Harbour, the 160-metre span provides a vital new connection through the heart of Copenhagen for cyclists and pedestrians.

Lille Langebro is the fifteenth bike bridge to be built in Copenhagen in the last twenty years. It was designed by WilkinsonEyre in collaboration with the engineering firm BuroHappold and connects the city centre, adjacent to the new BLOX building by Realdania, to Christianhavn.
